Jim Counter, originally from Aurora, WI, has opened live concerts for many artists including Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Blackhawk, John Hartford, Sawyer Brown, the Marshall Tucker Band, Lacy J. Dalton, Vern Gosdin, Dan Seals, Skip Ewing and Mark O’Connor. Counter recorded three Independent album projects in Nashville and several individual recordings. Album Highlights: Recorded two songs co-written by artist Garth Brooks. Guest vocalist Gary Morris appears on the song “Where Love Is King”. Worked with musicians Glenn Worf, Lonnie Wilson, Jim & Chuck Glass, Kenny Royster, and Bruce Bouton. In 1991, Counter's band Riley Road competed against 110 bands in eleven regions and was voted “Wisconsin State Champions in Country Music”. Jim performed on the first annual ‘Freedom Sings’ concert; sharing the stage with artists Bill Lloyd, Radney Foster, Kim Richey, Steve Earle, and John Kay of Steppenwolf.
