Edit Review The Black Keys  Rock
What do Robert Plant, Thom Yorke and the late Ike Turner have in common? Theyve all been avowed fans of Akron, Ohio, duo the Black Keys. Singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney won the adoration of musics elite thanks to their rocking take on the blues, which they introduced to fans with 2002s The Big Come Up. That debut record was so fuzzed-up and genuine, the outfit netted themselves a coveted four-stars in Rolling Stone. They followed it up with Thickfreakness, which was recorded in a basement studio in 12-hours. The effort won them international praise and gigs opening for Sleater Kinney and Radiohead. Last year, rumors surfaced of collaboration with Turner and Danger Mouse; working with Ike may not have happened, but DM took the reigns for the Keys fifth album, this Aprils Attack & Release.
